How long does processing take?

What the progress labels mean, when your discussion will be ready, whether you can leave the page — and what to do if processing fails.

A one-hour discussion is usually ready a few minutes after the upload finishes — somewhat longer for translated content. You can leave the page at any time: processing continues, and the notification bell tells you when the discussion is ready or if something failed.

What the progress labels mean

While a discussion processes, its card shows the current step. The labels you'll see:

LabelWhat's happening for you
UploadingYour file is being transferred. Keep the tab open only for this step.
ConvertingAudio is prepared for transcription (skipped for text transcripts).
TranscribingSpeech becomes text, with speakers separated.
Processing (Processing segment X of Y)Each contribution is cleaned up — anonymisation and translation happen here. This is usually the longest stretch.
Analyzing contributionsFinal checks on the contributions.
Building search indexContributions are indexed so you can search and cite them later.
Mapping the discussiondeliberAIde identifies the questions, positions and arguments raised.
Building claim graphStatements are linked so the Co-Pilot can answer with precise citations. This is the last step.

When processing completes, open the discussion to read the transcript — the Co-Pilot can answer questions about it immediately.

When should I worry?

  • The label hasn't changed in a while — the analysis steps can each take a few minutes for long recordings; this is normal. Refresh the page first: the progress display reconnects.
  • Processing shows no movement for more than ~30 minutes — check the notification bell for a failure message, then use Retry on the upload.
  • A step shows an error — open the upload list and select Retry. The file transfer is reused, so you don't re-upload; the processing runs again.
  • The browser closed or the connection dropped during Uploading — the job is marked as interrupted. Upload the file again, or use Retry if it's offered. Steps after Uploading don't need your browser at all.
  • You want to stop an upload — select Cancel next to the file (confirm if you're asked).
  • Nothing helped? The best way to report it: in the app, open ?Send Feedback and report a bug — it automatically includes where you were on the platform and lets you attach a screenshot of exactly what you see, which is precisely the information we need to fix it quickly.
