Advanced invite options

What the guest-naming option and the per-link recording settings do — and when guests must enter a group name.

Beyond name, scope, uses and expiry, an invite link has two advanced options: "Let guests name their own discussion group" and "Recording settings (optional)". You set both on the Invite participants page while creating the link.

OptionWhat it does
Let guests name their own discussion groupGuests skip choosing an existing discussion and type their own group name instead. Each group's recording becomes its own discussion. The option is pre-selected for event- and session-wide links, and hidden for links that point to one specific discussion.
Required group nameFollows from the option above: while it is on, the guest's Group name field is marked (required) and recording cannot start without a name. While it is off, the field is marked (Optional).
Recording settings (optional)Select Show to expand the panel and adjust language, speech recognition, anonymisation, privacy and analysis settings for recordings made through this link. The settings are saved when you select Create invite link and apply only where the link points — your organisation defaults stay unchanged.

How to spot these options later

In the Existing invite links list, links with guest naming enabled carry the badge Guests name the group. Changed recording settings are not shown on the link's card — note them in the Description field if your team needs to know about them.
