How plan artifacts turn next steps into a task list that tracks progress.
A plan pairs a plan document with a task list that tracks progress. The Co-Pilot creates one when your discussion produces concrete next steps; you tick tasks off as you complete them.
The task list
Open tasks sit in the Todo panel, each with a checkbox. Tick the checkbox to mark a task as done — the task is crossed out and the Completed counter above the list moves up. In chats and lists, the plan's card shows the same progress at a glance, for example "3/5 Done".
You are not limited to what the AI proposed:
- Click Add to append a task — it appears as New task, ready to rename.
- Drag a task by its handle to change the order.
- Remove a task with the trash icon that appears when you point at it.
The plan document
Next to the tasks sits the plan text itself. Click into it to edit directly — it supports simple formatting such as bold, italics, and headings. A Version number counts up with each saved change, so you can tell at a glance whether you are looking at the latest state.
Because the plan is a regular artifact, it stays available after the discussion ends: reopen it in later sessions, keep ticking off tasks, and use the task list as the running record of what your group actually did with its decisions.
