Version history
Step back to an earlier state of a document or image in the canvas.
The canvas keeps earlier states of your work: documents take an automatic snapshot before every AI action, and images keep every generated version. Plans and other items show a version number so you can tell whether something changed.
Restore an earlier document state
The counter appears in the document toolbar once at least one snapshot exists.
- In the document toolbar, click the Snapshots counter — hovering over it shows Version history.
- In the list, click the state you want. Each entry shows the time it was taken and which action followed it.
- The document switches back to that state and saves — the status shows Saved.
Snapshots are personal and live only in your current browser tab, and only the 50 most recent are kept — older ones drop off as new snapshots are taken. For a copy that lasts, use Download document. For a quick step back while typing, Undo in the toolbar is enough.
Browse image versions
When an image has more than one version, arrows appear above it.
- Use the left and right arrows above the image to step through the versions — the counter between them shows where you are.
- To keep the version on screen, click Download.
Plans and other items
Plans and other canvas items display a Version number. A higher number than you remember means the item was updated since you last opened it.
