Where an artifact came from
The Provenance panel shows who created a document or dashboard, from which discussions, and with which library item.
Every document and dashboard carries a Provenance record: who created it, exactly which discussions it drew from, and which library item shaped it. Click Show details on the panel to see all fields; Hide details collapses it again.
The panel appears when you open the artifact in the canvas or workspace — it is not shown on the standalone shared artifact page.
What the panel shows
- Created by and Created at — the person and the time. If the creator was not recorded, the field says so.
- Made with — whether the output came from the Co-pilot or from an Agent run, and Model names the AI model used.
- Scope used — the exact source material: Single discussion, Session scope, Event scope, Project scope, or a Custom discussion selection. Selected discussions lists them in the saved order — 1 was picked first.
- Library items used — the template, workflow, skill, or prompt saved with the output, if one was used.
Fields with no saved data show Not recorded — older artifacts may have gaps.
Why check it
Before you cite an artifact in a report or share it onward, the scope tells you whether it covers the discussions you think it does. A summary with Single discussion scope, for example, says nothing about the rest of the event — ask the Co-Pilot for a broader version instead of reusing it.
For image artifacts, a version counter (for example "Version 2 of 3") shows which version you are viewing.
