Ask the Co-Pilot to create a document or dashboard

Turn a chat request into a document, dashboard or other artifact that opens in the canvas.

A plain request in the chat is enough: type "Create a summary document of this discussion" or "Build a dashboard of the main topics", and the Co-Pilot writes the artifact and opens it in the canvas — the work area beside the chat. Pinning an output type first makes the result more predictable.

Create an artifact with a pinned type

  1. Below the message box, click +.
  2. Select Create.
  3. Pick a type, for example Document or Dashboard. A Create as chip appears above the message box.
  4. In the message box, describe what the artifact should contain — topic, audience, length.
  5. Send the message. The Co-Pilot shows Creating artifact... while it works, then the finished artifact opens in the canvas.

To unpin the type, click the small x on the Create as chip. Without a pinned type, the Co-Pilot picks a fitting format itself.

Iterate with follow-up requests

Treat the first version as a draft. Ask for changes in the same chat, one at a time:

  • "Shorten the introduction to one paragraph."
  • "Add a section on open questions."
  • "Create tag categories for costs and participation and tag every contribution."

The Co-Pilot updates the open artifact rather than starting over. If you closed the canvas, reopen it from the panel icon (Open in canvas) in the chat header — it opens a short dropdown of the chat's artifacts, so pick the one you want.
