Organisation-wide defaults

Set recording and transcription defaults once for your whole organisation — every project, event, session and discussion inherits them.

Settings you save at organisation level become the default for everything inside it — every project, event, session and discussion inherits them until someone overrides a value at a lower level.

How inheritance works

Configuration flows down five levels: organisation → project → event → session → discussion. Each setting shows where its current value comes from, with a badge such as Inherited from Organisation. When you override a value at a lower level, the change applies to that level and everything below it — the organisation default stays in place everywhere else.

Set the organisation defaults

You need an admin or owner role to change organisation settings.

  1. At the bottom of the sidebar, click your name.
  2. In the menu, click Settings.
  3. Under Organisation, click Transcription.
  4. In the Language section, choose your Source languages and Target language.
  5. Adjust the other sections — Speech recognition, Analysis, Anonymization and Privacy — the same way, if needed.
  6. Click Save changes. A green Saved confirmation appears, and every level without its own override now uses the new values.

Retention settings

The Privacy section holds two retention switches that decide how much original data is kept:

  • Audio retention — keep the source audio after processing so you can play back each segment; with it off, the audio is discarded and segment playback is unavailable.
  • Personal Information retention — keep the original text behind each redaction so it can be shown again with Reveal original; with it off, only the placeholder remains and the original cannot be recovered.

Lock a default

To stop lower levels from changing a setting, click Lock next to it (tooltip: "Lock this field"), then click Save changes to apply the lock. The field then shows Locked by Organisation in projects, events, sessions and discussions, and nobody can edit it there. Click Unlock ("Unlock this field") and save again to allow overrides.
